AND....we're off!

Man, I love summer!!  I'm so happy in the month of May, anticipating the opening of the local pool, spending long weekends at Waynee World, eating great food at summer festivals, playing outside...  THIS is what we love doing!

Jackson's doing well!  This summer, we have our fabulous mother's helper coming once a week to play with him for a few hours.  She's such a great girl and is so loving and patient with Jackson!  Her brother, too, is a great kid, and the 2 of them are literally fighting to spend time with him.  I'm proud to have a kid that people like to spend time with!  Admittedly, it's nice to have those few hours in the day to get stuff done.  My goal this summer: to get my office cleaned out, painted, and redecorated.  I'm not off to a great start.

Jackson's language skills are slowly getting better, but I don't think I've seen a lot of improvement lately.  He's been attempting, in the past few weeks, to sing the ABC song.  Now, he knows his letters and all their sounds, but I don't think he really realizes that there's an order to them.  The song is VERY difficult for him (and I wonder if it's difficult for others his age?), but he does practice each day.  It's cute to see him try, but also sad at the same time.  We try to help him but he's quite resistant to us when we do.

We have a few quiet weekends right now, though July is going to change that---we'll be spending 3 weekends in Michigan.  That's unprecedented for us!  We're a little crazy for trying it, but also very excited!  It's our favorite place to visit, hands down, though we've never tried this often in such a short period of time, especially with Jackson in tow!  Thank goodness for that new DVD player for the car (we bought it before our family vacation in March/April...a great buy!!).

Enjoy this weather!  I love it, hot and sticky, or cooled off like the next week will bring.  Anything's better than snow!!!
